how to join

New students may join at any time before June 30, 2008. Call to confirm space availability. Due to Jennifer's pregnancy, Yoga on the Hill regrets that we will be unable to accept students without prior experience in the Iyengar method of yoga after this date. Enrollment in our summer session (July-Aug) will be open ONLY to students with prior Iyengar yoga experience.

Fill out our registration form and mail it with your check for full payment addressed to: Yoga on the Hill, 609 Lyon St. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49503. Your class pass will be held for you at Yoga on the Hill.

You may also come to class ten minutes early to complete registration then. Please call in advance to confirm space availability. We accept cash and checks only.

Pro-rated passes are available for this current session.

school policies

  • 10% discount for seniors (age 65 & up) or full-time college students.
  • 5% discount for multiple family members from the same household purchasing classes.
  • Registration is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
  • A limited number of work-study scholarships are available.
  • Cash or checks only please, payable to Yoga on the Hill.
  • Our weekly schedule is subject to change; please call or check the web for updates.
  • Class starts on time: please be on time; don’t leave early.
  • For health reasons you may want to bring your own mat, but all props are provided by Yoga on the Hill.
  • Please abstain from eating heavily for 2-3 hours before class.
  • Please dress modestly in a t-shirt and shorts or tights, and abstain from wearing heavy scents. Yoga is practiced barefoot for safety and practical reasons.
  • Please inform your teacher before class if you have a medical condition (and obtain your doctor’s permission to attend class), or if you are pregnant, or menstruating.

Consider membership at Yoga on the Hill. Your membership sustains an independent Iyengar yoga center to develop people’s physical, therapeutic, emotional, and spiritual lives, and to foster a flourishing yoga community. Yoga on the Hill students with memberships receive a course packet of resources and practice sequences, free class cards for friends, and school availability for personal practice time.
Membership is only open to enrolled Yoga on the Hill students.
